Formula
Per side = (target − bar − 2 × collar) ÷ 2Fewest plates within your inventory; heavier plates first on tiesWorked example
Given: 142.5 kg on a 20 kg bar, no collar weight
- Per side = 61.25 kg.
- 25 + 25 + 10 + 1.25 = 61.25 (4 plates).
Result: Load 25, 25, 10 and 1.25 kg on each side.
